The February 2009 Newsletter is about "preventive maintenance" for management.
Page 1 describes warning signs of executive failure and suggests preventive maintenance for capital equipment as a good analogy for keeping an executive team operating at top efficiency and effectiveness. When financial stresses are great, the temptation is to push this to the back burner. As is true for your equipment, that is not a good trade-off.
On page 2, I describe how I do preventive maintenance with management. It is about measuring performance, clarifying roles and accountability, improving decision-making, and increasing self-awareness and insight into others. It is not just a feel-good exercise. It is an important way to protect your investment.
